FONMAR strengthens training to promote women’s sport fishing

•Training sessions will soon be held in Tortugas Bay and Asunción Bay.

With the aim of strengthening the participation of women in sport fishing, instructor Nidia Yukari Ruiz Viera Yuka Fisherwoman gave training to the fishing advisors of the FONMAR Coordination in Mulegé, Claudia Karina Martínez Villa and Adriana Alejandra Campos.

During the training, the general director of FONMAR, Lic. Martin Inzunza Tamayo, and the coordinator of FONMAR in Mulegé, Gael Montoya Montoya, were present and highlighted the importance of preparing the staff who will accompany the upcoming   

This preparation is being carried out within the framework of the recent formation of the women’s committees “Chacuacas Fishing Team”, in Bahía Tortugas, and “Estrellas de la Bahía”, in Bahía Asunción, communities where training will soon be carried out to bring more women closer to the practice of this discipline.

The State Government, headed by Professor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, through FONMAR, will continue to promote learning and participation spaces that strengthen women’s sport fishing in Baja California Sur.
