FONMAR Celebrates Father’s Day with Successful Fishing Events

Last weekend, the Fund for the Protection of Resources Marinos (FONMAR) celebrated Father’s Day with two fishing tournaments of shore in the municipalities of Comondú and Loreto, bringing together more than 150 participants in an environment of coexistence and sport.

In Comondú, the “Fishing with Dad” tournament was held on June 14 in La Poza Grande, with 100 fishermen registered and a prize pool of 20 thousand pesos. The winners were: Luis Castro, first place; Juan Luis Talamantes, second place; and José de Jesús Ortiz, third place in addition to another 40 fishermen who presented species on scales. The proceeds from registration was donated by the organizing committee for improvements in the community.

4th Family Shore Fishing Gathering

In Loreto, the 4th Family Shore Fishing Gathering was held for the Day of the Father with 55 participants, winners: Christian Jesús Vidaurrazaga, Jovencio Murillo Romero, Francisco Javier Osuna Perpuly, Renato Arias Salorio, Antonio Davis Castro y Brayan Ignacio Páramo.

Events like these, promoted by the State Government through the FONMAR, strengthen the social fabric and promote active parenthood through through sport fishing. Congratulations to all the participating parents!
