FONMAR CELEBRATES MOMS WITH THE “WOMEN TO THE WATER” FISHING TOURNAMENT IN PUERTO ADOLFO LÓPEZ MATEOS
La Paz, Baja California Sur, May 12, 2025 … With a total of 94 participants, including women and children, FONMAR celebrated Mother’s Day with the “Women to the Water” fishing tournament, held in Puerto Adolfo López Mateos, Comondú.
Families who attended the sport fishing tournament enjoyed a day of camaraderie and an atmosphere filled with joy in honor of the community’s mothers.




In the “Free Category,” First Place went to Alma Nayeli Corazón Murillo, awarded a prize of Five Thousand Pesos.
Second Place went to Patricia Montoya Sepúlveda, with a prize of Two Thousand Pesos,
and the Third Place was won by Elizabeth Saldívar de la Toba, with a prize of One Thousand Pesos.
In the “Children’s Category,” Jesús Gael Romero Pérez was awarded First Place and a prize of 500 Pesos, followed by Ian Romero de la Toba with 300 pesos in Second Place, and Dante Meza with 200 Pesos in Third Place.
The Award Ceremony was led by Guillermo Ledesma Rochín, Director of Tourism in the Municipality of Comondú, representing Mayor Roberto Pantoja Castro; Fernando Romero, Coordinator of FONMAR in Comondú; Luis Berber Soto, Representative of the State Government in the Municipality; Bertha Vázquez Domínguez, delegate; and representatives of the local Sport Fishing Committee.
The State Government reaffirms its commitment to integrate women into the sport fishing activities in the community.
