In response to a citizen complaint made on April 22, 2025, personnel of The Fund for the Protection of
Marine Resources (FONMAR) and the Attorney General’s Office, Federal Environmental Protection
Agency (PROFEPA) carried out an operation to verify and inspect the possible impacts the environment
has in this Natural Protected Area (ANP) on Magdalena Island, Comondú. Constructions were being
processed inside the protected area.

During the tour, two were identified as “Orchilla” for alleged violations in the matter of environmental impact.
The authorities recalled that it is strictly forbidden to carry out alterations in the ANP without due authorization.
Any modifications, construction, or activity that risks the ecological equilibrium can lead to administrative
or criminal sanctions.

As constructions were being processed inside the
protected area of this Natural Protected Area (ANP) on
Magdalena Island, and faced with this situation, a report was drawn up in the camp.

FONMAR recognizes the importance of citizen participation in environmental monitoring, and invites you to report any suspicious activity. The Conservation of our ecosystems is everyone’s responsibility!
