2024, new date for the “Falcones al Mar” fishing tournament

• The competition to benefit the ITSCC was rescheduled for June 1 and 2, 2024

After the suspension due to possible adverse weather conditions during the “Falcones al Mar” fishing tournament, scheduled to take place on November 4 in the port of Loreto; The members of the organizing committee agreed to reschedule the competition for June 1 and 2, 2024 with the species to be captured: Castilian Sierra mackerel.

In a meeting between the representatives of the three organizing institutions: Juan Pedro Almaraz García, General Director of the Higher Technological Institute of Ciudad Constitución (ITSCC); Martín Inzunza Tamayo, General Director of the Fund for the Protection of Marine Resources (FONMAR); and Paola Margarita Cota Davis, Municipal President of the H. X. Loreto City Council; It was agreed to keep the prize pool at 200 thousand pesos with equal contributions from the State Government through FONMAR and the municipal administration.

The State Coordinator of FONMAR Tournaments, Juan Javier García Davis, pointed out that the choice of the new date is due to a great abundance of Castilian Sierra mackerel on the Loreto coast during the month of June, which added to the dorado jackpots that will also be within The competition predicts great success for this next tournament, to benefit the higher education institution of Ciudad Constitución.

The “Falcones al Mar” tournament is a joint initiative between the ITSCC, the State Government and the Loreto City Council to achieve the acquisition of extraordinary resources for the improvement of the workshops and laboratories of the Tecnológico’s academic programs. The total registration fee and 10% of the jackpots will be donated for this purpose, so participating in this tournament contributes to educational and tourism development alike, fundamental issues for the state administration headed by Prof. Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío.
